Lee Thompson Young, who committed suicide on Aug. 19, was suffering from bipolar disorder, New York Daily News reports.

The 29-year-old “Rizzoli & Isles” star, who also suffered from depression, was taking medication for bipolar disorder when he shot himself, according to the coroner’s report. Lithium capsules and Quetiapine Fumarate tablets were found inside his apartment after he died.

Young’s body was found by his landlord with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The actor, who played the title character on Disney’s “The Famous Jett Jackson,” was starring as Barry Frost on TNT’s drama “Rizzoli & Isles” at the time of his death. Members of the show’s staff became concerned when Young didn’t show up for work, and called his landlord to check up on him. Young did not leave a suicide note.

Born in Columbia, S.C., Young landed the lead role in “The Famous Jett Jackson” in 1998. His subsequent TV credits included roles on “Scrubs,” “FlashForward” and “Smallville,” as well as the “Friday Night Lights” movie.
