The Cleveland Orchestra is making more performances free for young people to draw families and younger generations to the music.

The organization says its “Under 18s Free” program will apply to 46 concerts for the upcoming season, from September to May. The program covered only 14 concerts in the 2012-13 season.

The program provides a free ticket for a child with a paid adult admission for certain performances, including family programming and early concerts on Fridays and Sundays.

Among the free shows are musical programs that teach children as young as age 3 about instruments used by the orchestra.
