The Fourth District Cleveland Police Officer charged with rape went before a judge on Friday morning.

Patrol Officer Gregory Jones, 47, surrendered to Internal Affairs Investigators after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He’s accused of raping a woman he met and brought to his home on July 13. He was off-duty at the time of the alleged sexual assault.

Jones – a 21-year veteran – pleaded not guilty to the charge. The judge set bond at $50K. Jones posted the bond.

While the matter was investigated, Jones was taken off of street duty and given a non-sensitive assignment. After being formally charged, Jones was suspended without pay.
