CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
Less than a week away from the grand opening, and Horseshoe Casino Cleveland is ready to roll.
The $350M casino inside the Historic Higbee Building in downtown Cleveland will open to the public at 9:30PM on May 14.
Horseshoe Casino Cleveland is expected to attract five million visits to downtown annually, adding to the city’s sports, entertainment, music and cultural attractions.
They say the casino business is simple – entertain people. Rock Gaming Principal Jeff Cohen sums it up.
“Hopefully fun. We’re in the entertainment business and we hope that we’ve created an environment in which everybody, whether you game or not, can come here and have a terrific experience,” Cohen said.
The full-service gaming destination will employ nearly 1,600 people and will feature 2,100 slot machines, 63 table games, and a World Series of Poker room, along with lounges, a buffet restaurant and a three-outlet food court.
The theme is definitely Cleveland. It is interesting that there is no hotel directly attached, and that is on purpose. They say the theme was an urban casino. A casino where people can come, but venture out into the community to experience restaurants and everything else Cleveland has to offer.
