Chardon High School Shooting: Memorial Funds

Chardon High School students have collaborated to create a T-shirt to help raise money for the families of the victims of Monday’s deadly shooting — and it has even drawn interest outside Ohio.

The students took orders for the shirts, which cost $15, at the vigil at St. Mary’s Church Tuesday night and have already sold 500.

All proceeds will go to victims’ families through the Chardon Angels of Hope Memorial Fund.

The t-shirts read ‘Forever in Our Hearts’ with Chardon inside a heart and the date of the shooting.

Students will be taking orders again Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Xpressions Hair and Nail Salon.

Chardon Local Schools superintendent Joseph Bergan announced on Tuesday that a memorial fund for the victims of the Chardon High School shootings has been set up by the United Way.

The Chardon Healing Fund’ has been established to aid the families affected and according to Bergan donations can be made at any PNC Bank.

Also the Chardon Angels of Hope Memorial Fund has been set up to benefit victim’s of the the Chardon High School shooting and their families. Donations can be made at any Huntington National Bank location.

On Tuesday victims Russell King Jr., 17, and Demetrius Hewlin passed away from injuries sustained in the shooting.

Monday, classmate Daniel Parmertor, 16, passed away. One Chardon High School students remain hospitalized. A female shooting victim who was previously being treated at Hillcrest Hospital has been released to her parents.
